Ginger snaps

2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
3 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup molasses

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)

Cream shortening until light and fluffy.

Gradually add sugar. Blend in egg and molasses.

Then fold in flour mixture (flour, salt, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and baking soda)

Shape dough into balls and roll in sugar.

Place on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
